We can’t get enough of these Tiktok beauty trends
When it comes to beauty, TikTok is a source of endless inspiration. From Boyfriend blush to broccoli freckles – these are some of our favourite BeautyTok trends.
Beauty is in the eye of the TikTok beholder — and there is so much there to see.
In just a few years, the shortform video platform has evolved to become one of the most influential forecasters of what is in vogue, signalling a shift in how the industry interacts with brands and consumers alike.
From faster trend turnovers to niche micro styles and wider representation, BeautyTok is at the helm.
These are some of our favourite TikTok-inspired trends.
Vegie freckles
Faux freckles are nothing new, but recently a less conventional tool has been adopted to achieve the look.
The floret shape of broccoli creates the perfect stamp of freckles on the skin.
Simply take your preferred cream contour and broccoli stem and you’ll be showered with freckles in no time.
The only setback with this beauty tool hack is that it is one-time use; not very practical (or sustainable, for that matter).
Sans mascara
Wearing a full beat of make-up without mascara was once frowned upon in the beauty community, but now it’s all the rage.
Given the social media platform declared lash extensions outdated and faux pas, it’s little surprise that stripped back, bare lashes are on the rise, with internet personality Emma Chamberlain and actor Pamela Anderson among early adoptees of the sans mascara trend.
Soft curls
Just as TikTok can drive a trend, it can also kill it.
Case in point: beach waves, which have been declared no longer ‘the vibe’.
Instead, big, brushed out curls are now the style of choice.
“Voluminous hairstyles don’t have to look heavy or stiff, and this particular trend is a great example of relaxed curls done right,” Rokstar Salon director Brodie Lee Tsiknaris says.
Milk chocolate mani
Nothing says winter beauty more than a deep nail shade, and this season it’s all about having a milk chocolate manicure.
From chrome finishes a la Hailey Bieber and her ‘glazed donut nails’ aesthetic to a clean-cut look featuring short nails, the trend has been embraced wholeheartedly.
The side part
Not long ago, Gen Z declared side parts were ‘ugly’ and Millennial adjacent.
But now the tables have turned, with deep part lines a dominant trend at Milan Fashion Week.
According to celebrity hairstylist and Nature’s Way ambassador Renya Xydis it’s important to consider your face shape before committing to a dramatic part line.
“In my salon, I consider these factors and then make a decision based on that,” Renya says.
Boyfriend blush
Another rising trend on TikTok is the “boyfriend blush,” where users apply blush in a way that mimics a natural, sun-kissed flush, often inspired by the rosy cheeks seen after a good workout or spending time outdoors.
Instead of the apples of the cheeks, this technique involves applying blush beneath the cheekbones, giving a healthy, youthful glow.
This trend is celebrated for its ability to create a fresh-faced, vibrant look that is both effortless and flattering.
