How to go tropical for fabulous skin

Want to feel like you’re lazing the days away on an island paradise, all while protecting and nourishing your skin? Here’s how you can.

The sun gods are smiling again and it finally feels like summer is not just a far-away dream.

But even if sun, sand and lazy hours on a beach towel are out of reach (work anyone?!) it’s possible to evoke the feelings of a tropical isle from wherever we are.

Hawaiian Tropic’s luxurious Silk Hydration sun care range combines broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 50+ protection with 12 hours of moisturisation.

And our favourite part? Infused with the luxurious scents of mango and papaya, the range smells like tropical sunshine in a bottle.

All while hydrating and nourishing our skin, which may be feeling the effects of a long winter spent indoors where central heating and harsh dry air can play havoc.

Tropical AND sun smart

With Australia having the dubious honour of one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, the new range makes it easy to incorporate sun care into your daily beauty routine.

A new study by Brisbane’s QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, published in the British Journal of Dermatology, has shown just how beneficial this could be, suggesting regular sunscreen use could cut Australia melanoma rates by a third.

The Institute suggests it is beneficial to apply sunscreen to your face, hands and arms every day, even if you don’t plan to be outside.

Do remember, of course, that slopping on sunscreen is just one part of the sun smart equation. Make sure you also wear a shirt, put on a hat, seek shade or shelter if you do go outside, and slide on sunglasses to protect your eyes.

Lightweight and easy to apply

Hawaiian Tropic’s oil free and fast-absorbing Silk Hydration Face Lotion provides lightweight and non-greasy protection for your face, while the body lotion takes care of the rest of you.

The clear spray sunscreen is easy to apply and provides broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection. Handy if you’re going from work to the beach, or don’t like the feeling of thicker sunscreen creams.

After a day in the sun, pull out the Silk Hydration Aftersun to moisturise, soothe and cool the body, face and neck. Hawaiian Tropic, you had us at aloha!

This post is brought to you by Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration SPF 50+ Range.

Always read the label. Follow the directions for use. Sunscreen is only one part of sun protection. Prolonged high risk sun exposure should be avoided. Frequent re-application, or use in accordance with directions is required for effective sun protection.
