Pretty, powerful autumn make-up looks

As the weather cools down, it’s a great opportunity to warm up your beauty looks.

Straight from the runway in London and beyond, here are two of our favourite autumn makeup looks – and how to create them:

Power play

This is a version of the classic bare face and strong lips look which has been updated and seen on Fashion Week runways.

Trending for autumn 2019, it’s an easy look to create and packs a huge beauty punch.

Here’s how to get the look:

Step 1: Create a bare and natural face by first applying Rimmel London’s Lasting Finish 25HR foundation.

Brush on with a makeup brush in downward strokes, paying extra attention to areas you want to conceal that have redness or pimples.

Choose a shade that matches your skin tone so it’s easier and quicker to apply.

Step 2: Give your eyes two or three coats of mascara to make your eyes pop – you don’t need to apply shadow or liner for this look, it’s all about the lips.

FYI – don’t underestimate eyelash curlers – they make your eyes look bigger and lashes longer in seconds.

Step 3: Red, raspberry or fuchsia lipstick is they key to this look.

We love Rimmel’s best-selling Provocalips Liquid Lip bold berry colour, the shade to look for is Firecracker. It’s ties the whole look together.

Modern Romance

This look is all about the eyes, and is a take on the “smokey eye and soft mouth” make-up. Gorgeous and dreamy, it’s a look that can translate from day to night.

Here’s how to get the look:

Step 1: Create your base and conceal any redness and dark circles under the eyes.

Step 2: To create the smokey eye we love Rimmel’s Magnif’eyes Eyeshadow Palette in Crimson – it features gorgeous pink and burnt red shades with a mix of shimmer and matte textures to create the ultimate autumnal eyes.

Concentrate the darker matte shades on the inner half of the eyes, then use the lighter shimmer shades on the outer half of the eyes, and along the cheekbones.

Doing this really warms and opens up the face and gives this glowy, wide-eyed, almost butterfly-like effect.

Step 3: Finish with a sheer, shiny lipstick or a tinted lip balm – you don’t need to use liner or gloss and a few coats will intensify your lip colour.

Rimmel London has the latest on-trend products and shades to refresh your make-up this autumn, so you can create the latest looks from the runway, your way.
