About Sukhavati Ayurvedic Retreat & Wellness Spa

Many of us seek holidays where we can rest and recharge, only to return to a high-stress environment back home.

At Sukhavati Ayurvedic Retreat & Wellness Spa, the available health practices are designed to last well beyond your stay.

The Bali destination is a passion project turned business venture for The House of Wellness TV co-host Luke Darcy, who has had an interest in meditation and wellness since his AFL playing days.

“Twenty years ago, I was lucky to have met Mark Bunn, who’s a former footballer and Ayurvedic expert, and years later that led to an opportunity to open an Ayurvedic health retreat in Bali,” Luke says.

Steeped in Indian and Nepalese culture, the ancient spiritual practice of Ayurveda is a central theme at the resort.

“Originally the location was a Buddhist retreat built by Bruce Woodley from The Seekers, and we still showcase the detailed sculptures he carved out,” Luke says.

Now operating in its 12th year, the popular Bali destination has won countless awards in the luxury retreat industry while providing world-class Ayurvedic practices and treatments.

“Mark is an Ayurvedic expert at the resort and has written a book on the subject called Ancient Wisdom for Modern Health,” Luke says.

“We’ve lost a lot of ancient health practices over time, so something that we strive to do at Sukhavati is bring back these spiritual practices into the modern world by introducing some of

that knowledge and how we can apply it to everyday life.”

Designed for all levels, from the wellness novice to the spiritual aficionado, Sukhavati offers a range of opt-in facilities and treatments such as complete body massages, medicated

baths, yoga, meditation, personalised health and detox programs, holistic wisdom and delicious sattvic (vegetarian) Ayurvedic cuisine.

“Overall, it’s a positive experience that can have a lasting, profound impact on our visitors, which is why a lot of them end up returning every year or twice a year,” Luke says.

Luke and the team at Sukhavati are offering an opportunity to win a retreat stay at Sukhavati Ayurvedic Retreat & Wellness Spa.
