Better Together Kitchen’s speedy spaghetti puttanesca

When it comes to go-to midweek dinners, Better Together Kitchen’s spaghetti puttanesca recipe is not only simple to prepare, with just a few ingredients you can create a flavour-packed dish the whole family will love. 


3 tbsp olive oil 

2 cloves garlic, crushed 

6-8 anchovies, chopped 

¼ tsp dried chilli flakes 

1½ cans chopped tomatoes 

2 tbsp tomato paste 

1 tbsp capers, drained 

1 tsp dried oregano pepper 

10 black olives, pitted and chopped

500g spaghetti

grated parmesan cheese (for serving)


Step 1. 

Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add garlic and stir for 1 minute. Add anchovies and chilli flakes and cook for 1 minute. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, capers, oregano and pepper. 

Step 2.

Bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add olives and mix. 

Step 3.

Meanwhile, cook pasta until al dente. Drain and pour over sauce. Toss and serve immediately with parmesan cheese. 

Note: This is also delicious on quickly sautéed zoodles.

Serves 4-6.
