Keto dark mousse au chocolat

Who says desserts have to be unhealthy to be good? Impress with this easy low-carb dark chocolate and orange twist on a French classic. Oh la la!


  • 75 g dark chocolate, 100 per cent cocoa solids, chopped
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 50 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 100 g your preferred sugar substitute
  • 1 orange, half the zest finely grated, half in thin strips to garnish
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, plus extra to garnish
  • 250 g 0% fat Greek yoghurt, at room temperature
  • lemon balm, to garnish


Step 1.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave or a bain-marie and set aside to cool a little.

Step 2.
Whip the egg whites with an electric whisk until they form stiff peaks. Set aside.

Step 3.
Beat the cocoa powder, sugar substitute, finely grated orange zest and cinnamon into the Greek yoghurt until smooth. 

Step 4.
Beat in the cooled melted chocolate, then carefully fold in the egg white with a large metal spoon.

Step 5.
Divide the mousse between six ramekin dishes and chill for at least 1 hour.

Step 6.
Garnish with lemon balm leaves, orange zest strips and a sprinkle of cinnamon just before serving.

Serves 6
