Sally Obermeder on her fresh take on life

Having made it through dark days battling breast cancer, this popular media personality is now relishing motherhood and growing her lifestyle empire.

Sally Obermeder just has to look at her baby daughter, Elyssa, and her eyes fill with tears.

Yet it isn’t sadness that makes her well up; it’s joy.

Having being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive type of breast cancer just days before she gave birth to her first daughter, Annabelle, in 2011, Sally has described motherhood the second time around as “very special”.

She and husband Marcus welcomed Elyssa via a US surrogate in December last year.

“I’m so happy,” Sally, 44, tells The House of Wellness magazine.

“It really highlights for me, what I didn’t have with Annabelle. I wasn’t sure if a second baby was going to happen, so I’m beside myself.”

For the first half of 2017, Sally has been on maternity leave from her role as co-host of Channel Seven’s The Daily Edition.

Yet she certainly hasn’t taken a break from living life at full-steam.

As well as raising her two young daughters, Sally also runs lifestyle website SWIISH.com with her sister, Maha Koraiem.

The sisters have also just released their third book, Super Green Simple and Lean, which is a collection of 140 smoothie, salad and bowl recipes.

It was during the gruelling treatment for cancer that Sally came up with the idea of doing her lifestyle and fashion website.

“Maha and I are all about luxe for less,” she says.

“You can have an amazing life at an affordable price, and you don’t have to spend a fortune to look good and feel good.”
