Acai + Berry Smoothie Bowl with Acai Choc Crumble

Smoothie Bowl


  • 3 fresh dates, seeds removed and chopped
  • 1 tsp Bioglan Acai + Berry Powder
  • 1 tsp cacao or cocoa
  • 1-2 tbs maple syrup + more if needed
  • ¼ cup walnuts, chopped
  • ¼ cup macadamia nuts, chopped
  • ¼ cup buckwheat groats

Other toppings

  • Shredded coconut
  • Fresh berries
  • Goji berries


Step 1.
To make the smoothie bowl, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth but still thick. Add additional liquid if needed. Pour the smoothie mixture into a bowl.

Step 2.
To make the crumble, place dates, acai + berry powder, cacao, walnuts, macadamia nuts and buckwheat to a food processor. Blitz the mixture using the pulsing function until roughly chopped. Slowly add maple syrup until the mixture starts to clump together.

Step 3.
To serve, sprinkle the crumble lengthways down the smoothie bowl, followed by a line of shredded coconut, berries and goji berries.

Super Sausage Rolls

  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • 300g pork mince
  • 2 tbs Bioglan Organic Maca Powder
  • 2 tbs Bioglan Chia Seeds [to be added into sausage mixture]
  • 2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 2 garlic cloves crushed
  • 1 bunch sage chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg, ground
  • 1 tsp ginger, ground
  • 2 tbs honey
  • 2 eggs whisked + 1 extra for brushing
  • 2 tbs panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1-2 tsp of Bioglan Chia Seeds to sprinkle on top


Step 1.
Preheat oven to 200C.

Step 2.
Add all of the dry ingredients and pork mince in a large mixing bowl. Add 2 eggs and season with salt and pepper, combine well.

Step 3.
Lay the puff pastry sheets out and place a few tablespoons of meat mixture in the middle of the sheet.

Step 4.
Fold the pastry over the seal along the edges. Brush the top part with the whisked egg to give it a shine. Sprinkle the top with chia seeds.

Step 5.
Bake the sausage rolls for 20 minutes or until the centre of the rolls reach 58C.

Chia Beef Burger with Beetroot Relish

  • 1 tbs extra virgin oil, for cooking
  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 chia egg (1 tbs Bioglan Chia Seeds and 3 tbs water mixed together and put aside for 5 min) + extra chia seeds for dusting
  • ¼ bunch basil, finely chopped
  • ½ tsp chilli flakes or 1 red chilli, finely sliced
  • ½ bunch spring onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • Pinch salt and pepper

Beetroot Relish

  • 1 tsp Bioglan Organic Beetroot Powder
  • 1 large beetroot, cooked, peeled and grated
  • 1 green apple, cored, peeled and grated
  • 1 small red onion, peeled and finely sliced
  • 1 tbs extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbs apple cider vinegar
  • 1-2 tsp honey

To serve

  • 1 handful rocket leaves
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 4-6 wholemeal seeded buns


Step 1.
To make the beetroot relish, heat extra virgin olive oil in a fry pan over medium heat, add onion and cook until soft (do not brown). Add remaining ingredients and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until soft and mixture becomes sticky. Add a dash of water if necessary. Remove from heat.

Step 2.
To make the patties, place all ingredients in a bowl and combine well. Shape into patties and sprinkle with additional chia seeds.

Step 3.
Heat oil in a frying pan and cook patties on each side until cooked through.

Step 4.
To assemble place pattie on a bun top with relish, tomato, avocado and rocket leaves. For a bun-less version, serve pattie in an iceberg lettuce cup with toppings.

Serves 4-6


Chunky Guacamole



  • 1 large ripe avocado, skin and seed removed, diced
  • 1 tbs lime juice
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • ½ tsp Bioglan Spirulina Powder
  • 1 tbs extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbs coriander, chopped
  • 1 red chilli, seeds removed and sliced finely (optional)
  • 1 tomato, seeds removed and chopped
  • ½ bunch spring onions, chopped finely
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Step 1.
Place all ingredients in a bowl and mash until desired consistency is reached.  

Serves 2-4


Sweet Potato Chips

  • 1 large sweet potato, scrubbed and cut into 1-2cm batons
  • ½ tbs extra virgin olive oil
  • Pinch salt
  • Pinch cayenne pepper


Step 1.
Preheat the oven to 180C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

Step 2.
In a large bowl combine sweet potato, olive oil, salt and cayenne pepper, toss well.

Step 3.
Place sweet potato on the tray in a single layer and bake for 15-20 mins until tender and golden.
