The House of Wellness: Winter 2021

In The House of Wellness winter magazine, culinary queen Melissa Leong reveals how family influenced her love of food, the importance of self-care – and the power she finds in her signature red lipstick. Read the full digital edition.

And, as the first Asian and first female judge for hit reality cooking show MasterChef, the daughter of Singaporean immigrants shares her pride in becoming a role model for the Australian Asian community.

“Every race, creed, belief and identity in the world deserves to be seen, heard and respected. And so, whatever small role I can play in that regard, I take seriously because it’s about more than just myself,” Melissa says.

The popular food writer and TV presenter works long, demanding hours, and says a commitment to self-care is an important part of her success.

“I really like that the whole term self-care has become something that people have a reasonable understanding of these days because it is something that we need to do for ourselves,” she says.
