How to keep calm under pressure and the importance of regular bowel screening – tune into The House of Wellness radio show for all that and more.

Listen to this week’s episode of The House of Wellness:

Topics covered this week include:

Poise under pressure

Do you struggle to think clearly under pressure?

Having worked as a paramedic for 15 years Leigh Anderson, author of The Paramedic Mindset, has learned a thing or two about making quick calls in stressful situations.

He joins The House of Wellness Radio show to talk about how he copes with stress, and why he believes poise under pressure is a skill anyone can master.

The importance of bowel checks

Every two years, The National Bowel Cancer Screening Program sends free screening kits to those who are eligible, yet less than half of these get returned.

Among some cohorts, bowel screening participation rates have even dropped.

Long-time radio broadcaster and bowel cancer survivor Mark Allen says early detection is critical, and urges people not to make excuses for not getting checked, with as many as 1500 people under 50 diagnosed with the disease each year.

Also this week

The House of Wellness radio team talked about the importance of getting enough iron in your diet and some of the easiest ways to support your intake.

Topics for listener calls included nose health and inflammation caused by conditions such as polymyalgia rheumatica.
