The House of Wellness – Season 6, Episode 8

This week on the House of Wellness, it’s Easter on the Christian calendar and that means it’s the annual Royal Children’s Hospital Appeal. Hear her story and from two of the hospital’s amazing team from the RCH Burns Unit. After battling every parent’s worst nightmare with their child diagnosed with leukemia, the Verrocchi family’s little boy, Raffi, is now leukemia free. In gratitude, the family have raised substantial funds for the “kookaburra Cancer Ward”. We check in on them to see how young Raffi is progressing. We’ve all heard of guide dogs and assistance dogs, but how about ‘Story Dogs’? It’s the latest thing in giving kids who struggle with their reading, a non-judgemental listener who doesn’t care if they stumble over a few words. The Doctors Carr sink their teeth into blood health with tips on the best ways to keep yours red, rich and flowing freely. 43 percent of hospitalised injuries in Australia are falls but it’s never too late to improve your balance by standing on one leg! You’ll be amazed the difference it’ll make to keeping you steady on your feet. Podcaster and entrepreneur Sarah Davidson checks in with her sleep update. All that and more this week on the House of Wellness.
