Easing hay fever with Vitamin C, Garlic and Horseradish

Step into spring with Pharmacist and Master Herbalist Gerald Quigley as he shares a natural way to ease the symptoms of hay fever.

The symptoms of hay fever arise from inhaling allergenic material.

Regular irrigation of the nasal passages with a strictly isotonic saline (without preservatives) may help restore mucous integrity. Use of an inhaled sesame oil spray coats the nasal passages on high risk days (like when there’s a stormy change).

Vitamin C, Garlic and Horseradish is a potent combination of herbs that have traditionally been used in western herbal medicine to relieve symptoms of sinusitis and upper respiratory tract infections. When taken in combination, it offers antihistamine, immune boosting and decongestant activity.

Taking this supplement regularly may also help reduce the severity and duration of cold symptoms, as well as help support the immune system.

Natural sources

  • Horseradish: leaves and roots from the plant.
  • Vitamin C: broccoli, citrus fruits, berries, tomatoes, kiwifruit, blackcurrants, brussel sprouts and capsicum.

Remember to speak to your Chemist Warehouse Pharmacist about the options specific to your symptoms.
