Big and bouncy: How to achieve Jade Kisnorbo’s ‘90s-style bombshell hair

Timeless, voluminous and universally flattering, there’s much to love about big, ’90s-style blowouts. Watch Jade Kisnorbo’s tutorial for getting the look at home.

Bigger is better! House of Wellness beauty expert Jade Kisnorbo says ‘90s-style blowouts are best suited to those with layered haircuts to help create body and shape in the hair.

Here is how to get the look

1. Apply mousse

First, you’ll want to apply a volumising mousse to clean, towel-dried hair.

Avoid being overzealous in your application as too much product can weigh down the hair.

Focus the product at the roots for targeted volume.

2. Blow-dry hair

Using a vented ceramic brush, roll sections of hair over the brush so that the brush is covered by the hair, which allows the blow-dryer to apply heat directly to the root for maximum volume.

Hold each section in the brush for a few seconds before blasting hair with the cool setting to “set” the blow-dry.

3. Use rollers

For added volume and longevity, apply large rollers to each section, alternating the direction for added shape and a true ‘90s feel.

Leave rollers in the hair until cool, then blast with a flexible hairspray if your hair is prone to dropping.

For added oomph, apply dry shampoo at the roots and shake your hair upside down to create texture and lift.
