How to achieve Jade Kisnorbo’s eye-catching New Year’s Eve party look

Want to get into the party spirit with a fun new make-up look? Try resident beauty expert Jade Kisnorbo’s colourful take on the cat eye.

If you’re after a simple look that spices up your make-up during the festive season, try Jade Kisnorbo’s experimental take on the cat eye thanks to its use of a vibrant, universally flattering shade of pink.

Step 1

Using an angled brush, take a small amount of Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in Romantic and slowly line the top lid, extending the tail with a feline flick for an elongated look.

We like Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick Romantic, $14.39.

Step 2

Extend the liner to the upper and lower inner lid, right up to the tear duct.

This will prevent the make-up from looking too focused on the upper lid, while also giving an overall brightening effect for the eyes.

Apply bronzer and blush to give the face some definition and a lip oil to add shine.

We like MCoBeauty Lip Oil Hydrating Treatment, $11.99; MCoBeauty Instant Contour Cream Bronzer Light/Medium, $27.99; MCoBeauty Highlight & Glow Beauty Wand Peach Glow, $27.99.

Step 3

Coat your lashes with a tubular mascara.

Jade suggests removing excess product with a tissue to avoid clumpy lashes.

Use individual false lashes for more drama.

“Hold the edge of the false lash rather than the base to get them closer to the lash line,” she says.

We like MCoBeauty Eyelash Curler, $11.99; MCoBeauty XtendLash Mascara, $23.99: Glam by Manicare Lula Lashes, $11.69.

Step 4

To complete the look, coat your brows with Schwarzkopf Got2b Glued 4 Brows & Edges in an upward and outward direction for a lifted look, to set the brows in place.

Think laminated brows, but more natural.

We like Schwarzkopf Got2b Glued 4 Brows & Edges 16ml, $17.99.

Step 5

Clean up any errors and tidy the eyeliner with concealer to ensure a crisp finish.

To add a touch of glam, apply small gem stickers along the tail of your eyeliner.

To complete the look, use a setting spray to lock in the make-up.

We like Nude by Nature Natural Setting Spray 60ml, $16.49; Rimmel Lasting Radiance Concealer Ivory, $10.69
