Awards shine light on best beauty products
Vogue Australia’s inaugural beauty awards recognise standout skincare, hair, fragrance and make-up products. Jade K shares some of her favourite affordable options from the shortlist.
If Australia’s billion dollar beauty industry is any indication, self-care has become increasingly important to us.
That is why Vogue Australia has decided to celebrate our collective love of beauty in its inaugural Beauty Awards.
The Vogue Beauty Awards put the spotlight on best-in-class beauty products across skincare, body, haircare, and make-up, with public voting open until March 20.
“Feeling great in your skin and becoming the best version of yourself is something are champions of, and giving advice and providing answers is all part of that,” Vogue Australia digital strategy and e-commerce director Francesca Wallace says.

How the shortlisted products were chosen
An array of experts from across the country including celebrity facialist Melanie Grant, dermatologist Dr Shammi Theesan, international hair stylist Anthony Nader, and Vogue Australia editors joined forces to test products and determine the shortlist.
“Our judges have spent the past few months trialling all of the products intensively, using both their own experience and their professional knowledge to make a final call,” Francesca says.
Anthony says the scope of quality ingredients in formulations was a major determining factor in whether they were added to the shortlist.
“Consumers today are so clued up with the benefits of what’s being applied to their hair and scalp and how it’s going to help them,” Anthony says.
“(An award-winning product) has to work, and I don’t want all the bells and whistles either. I want a product that means business and serves a purpose and you get results fast.”

Jade Kisnorbo’s Vogue Australia Beauty Award top picks
Many of the products on the list are affordable, everyday products – including 14 available at Chemist Warehouse.
The House of Wellness’ resident beauty expert, Jade Kisnorbo, shares some of her top picks from the products up for consideration.
Fragrance
Daisy Dream Eau de Toilette by Marc Jacobs
“This is a staple in my fragrance collection because it’s a little floral, it’s very pleasant and it also works as a great layering scent or to neutralise your palette,” Jade says.
Hair care
L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Treatment
“It’s got a sturdy glass bottle; a great pump and it has a luxe look to it,” Jade says.
“Not only does it look good, it’s great on the ends of your hair or is equally effective at smoothing the hair for sleek up-dos.
Skincare
“It’s very gender and age inclusive; it’s a universal skincare hero product that effectively cleanses,” Jade says.
“Keep it in your shower or your various kits as it’s one of those products that will last you.”
Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Face Cream Moisturiser
“It’s fragrance-free, inclusive, and effective – it’s perfect for evening use as it allows your skin to reap the benefits overnight,” Jade says.
Public voting is open for the Vogue Australia Beauty Awards 2023 until March 20. Cast your vote.
