Boosting your brain health, protecting against glaucoma and microbiome health in kids – tune into The House of Wellness radio show for all that and more.

On this week’s The House of Wellness radio show:

Boost your brain health

With more than 472,000 Australians currently living with dementia in Australia, maintaining brain health is crucial as we age.

Professor of allied health and active ageing Professor Kate Laver chats to Luke, Gerald and Zoe about how to age well.

She recommends following a healthy diet, not smoking, limiting alcohol, staying physically active and challenging your brain with crosswords and puzzles or a new hobby.

Preventing glaucoma

Around 300,000 Aussies live with glaucoma, which can lead to blindness if untreated.

Optometrist Peter Larsen chats about glaucoma and how many people have the condition but don’t realise it.

It’s also important to get a comprehensive eye examination from an optometrist.

Microbiome health in children

Clinical Nutritionist and Western Herbalist Jessica Simonis discusses how important a healthy microbiome is for our children.

She explain what parents can do to help their kids, including encouraging a healthy diet and using probiotic supplements.

Also this week:

With mosquito season well and truly upon us, the team discuss ways to avoid being bitten.
