kiwi smoothie

Green kiwi smoothie

Fancy a quick way to increase your daily serving of fruits and veggies before the day begins? This smoothie contains kiwi and celery which are hydrating, can help aid digestion and reduce inflammation.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 banana, sliced
  • 1/2 ripe avocado, peeled, stoned and cubed
  • 2 kiwi fruit, peeled and sliced
  • 4 slices cucumber
  • 1 stick celery, sliced
  • 35 g kale, stalks removed
  • a few mint leaves, (optional)
  • 250 ml apple juice

Method

Step 1.
Spread out the banana, avocado and kiwi fruit on a lined baking tray and freeze for at least 2 hours. It can then be transferred to a freezer bag and stored for future use or used straight away.

Step 2.
Put the cucumber, celery, kale and mint (if using) in a blender with the apple juice. Blend until smooth.

Step 3.
Add the frozen banana, avocado and kiwi and blend again until smooth, then pour into a glass and serve immediately.

Serves 1
