Recipes: Luke and Zoe’s easy blends for digestive health

Luke Hines’ Kale Krusher

Ingredients

1 lebanese cucumber 

1 cup kale, stems removed, roughly chopped

1 green apple, cored and quartered 

1 lime, peeled, kept whole 

1 tsp apple cider vinegar 

1 cup ice 

Water, as needed 

Kiwi fruit, peeled and sliced, to garnish 

Method

Step 1. 

Place all ingredients (except Kiwi) in a powerful food processor and pulse until well combined. Add water as needed for a looser smoothie. 

Step 2. 

Pour into a tall glass and top with sliced kiwi, enjoy. 

Zoe Bingley-Pullin’s Super Chocolate Fruit and Spinach Smoothie

Ingredients

1 cup baby spinach 

1-2 cups oat milk

1 cup chilled fruit pieces (bananas, papayas, mangoes, pineapples, berries)

1/2 cup soy, goat or cow’s milk yoghurt

3 whole cacao beans

2 tbsp coconut oil

1/2 cup ice cubes 

Cacao nibs and mint leaf for serving

Method

Step 1.

Blend spinach, oat milk, fruits, yoghurt, ice cubes, cacao beans and coconut oil and serve in a chilled glass with a mint leaf and cacao nibs on top.
